The “Berean Nation” began in Acts 17:11, where it compared the people of Thessalonica and the people of Berea together, telling us that those of Berea were more noble-minded in that they received the Word of God with readiness of mind, examining the Scriptures daily to see if the things they heard were so.

We also compare what people say in the Name of Christ to what the Word of God actually says. This is what is called biblical discernment and is called a spiritual gift in 1 Corinthians 12:10. We are also commanded to “Test the spirits” in 1 John 4:1.

That tradition continues today with those who desire to become serious followers of Jesus.  Those of us who have made the commitment to studying the Scriptures carefully can come together in this community to discuss openly and honestly what the Bible actually says about various issues that confront us today.  We do so with the understanding that we must rightly divide the Word of Truth in order to be real followers of Jesus.  We may not always agree on what the Word says, but we will agree to disagree agreeably with each other.

BereanNation.com is a biblical Christian effort to get people to read the Bible for themselves and understand what it says, like those people in Berea so long ago, recorded for us in Acts 17:11, where it says that “…they searched the Scriptures daily to see if it was so.” We do not claim to have the corner of Truth, and freely admit there is a range of hermeneutical understanding to many if not all passages used on this site.

Welcome to the Berean Nation!  It is our honour to study with you and learn Christ in loving devotion to our Saviour, Yeshua Ha-Meshiach, or Jesus the Messiah. God bless you as you seek to follow the call of the Berean found in Revelation 1:3 – “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.” (NASB)

This gives rise to our command phrase – “Read, Hear, Heed.”  Join us as we learn Christ so that we may better follow Him.
